2008:Big Troy returns to the Pioneers in 2008 with an attitude. Moving to the nose tackle this season has made life difficult for QBs in the af2. Blackwell has been using his opportunity to take over the middle of the defense front.
2007: Eleven and a half tackles, four quarterback hits, a pass breakup, three sacks, four tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles have come via Blackwell. In his first season in the af2, Blackwell has learned to contribute in virtually all defensive phases of the indoor game.
College: Troy Blackwell was an impact player while at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga . In his four years playing for UTC Blackwell played in every game except for one. When he was a freshman in 2002 he recorded 22 tackles (14 unassisted) and one sack for a loss of four yards. In his final season, 2005, he had 42 total tackles (24 unassisted), six tackles for a loss of 34 yards, and three sacks for a loss of 29 yards.
